The November meeting was held on 11/29/09, 5 p.m. at Mulligans on Ebenezer Road. 

 

Approximately 20 people were in attendance.  A quorum of the board was established.

 

VOTES –

 

 

  1. Bylaws needed for 501(c) 3 status

Mike & Emily Feeback prepared and distributed draft bylaws for all to review.  The bylaws were approved by vote with one wording change in Article III, section 9.   Once finalized, Feeback will forward to Higginbotham for posting on the website.

 

  1. General Fund Disbursement to support IBC trip

$118 from the general fund was approved to go towards sending the LA3 to the International Blues Competition.  This brings the total raised for the trip to $1000.    This will leave $865.91 in the General Fund with two known major expenses coming up - $100 sponsorship of the Johnnie Mack Blues Attack show on WDVX and a $300 filing fee for 501(c)3 status.

 

  1. 12/13 Christmas Party at Brackins

General support of the Christmas Party was approved to include the following:

    • 4 p.m. start
    • cash donation, cans of food, or both to serve as admission
    • pot luck format
    • all proceeds and canned goods will go to local area foodbanks
    • LA3 will play
    • Tim Spencer, Steve Michel, and Robert Higginbotham all volunteered to provide music of some sort
    • Entertainment committee will solicit donated main food items (i.e. Honey Baked Ham, Turkey from Supermarket, etc).
    • Entertainment committee will handle/delegate all activities related to event.

 

GENERAL DISCUSSION

 

Time was spent discussing and clarifying the draft bylaws.   One change was made.

 

Tim Spencer has replaced Louis Kittrell on the Board. 

 

Tim Spencer will open an “account” with Metropulse and handle/delegate posting SMBS events there.

 

It was agreed to not have a December meeting so the next meeting will be January 31st at a venue to be determined.
